As part of our 'future proof your skin' campaign, the team at Balance Me have tracked down inspirational women across the age-groups to write about what a typical day means to them - often doing very untypical things! Today we’ve got the twenty-something Kirsty, who writes the amazing Fashion for Lunch blog. Fashion for lunch is all about having fun with fashion, beauty and lifestyle. With a love of colour, new brands, vintage and mixing it all up with beautiful classic items. Kirsty has been blogging since 2012, with a background in writing zines, working in fashion, dj'ing and, of course, shopping!
After years of working full time for an accessories company as wholesale manager, I took the plunge and decided to go freelance!
It's really exciting because every day is different and every day is exciting! My days are split between freelance sales for different accessories companies, as well and working on my fashion blog Fashion for Lunch. I also do some social media on the side for different brands.
Yesterday I got an early start, waking up with my boyfriend, getting dressed and heading out to town for a press day. This was for a PR company; it's good to see what's coming out over the next season, so I can blog about it. It also is interesting for my freelance work as I get a feel for what trends are emerging. After the press day, I headed to Selfridges to grab a snack and wonder the beauty halls and see some new items they have in store for AW13. I bumped into a friend, had a chat and headed to Starbucks to check emails and reply to anything urgent, before heading off to a meeting with a jewellery designer for a catch up on sales strategy and also social media plans I am working on for her.
On the tube back to my flat, I drafted a blog post, which I posted once at home after I had edited the photos. You can read it here: http://fashionforlunch.wordpress.com/2013/10/16/currently-using-lily-lolo-simmer-stripes/
Then I caught up on a few more emails and mapped out my diary for the next few weeks of all the forthcoming press days.
Every day is different, but it's always fun and with me everywhere I go is my Balance Me rose otto hand cream.
