We recently spent some time in one of our favourite places, Cornwall, to celebrate the launch of our Hyaluronic Plumping Mist. If you’re planning a winter getaway, look no further!
We stayed at the gorgeous CK Rock, which has breathtaking views over the sea and the Rock estuary. There are two houses to choose to rent, Treverra which sleeps up to 8 and Shalmar Hollow sleeping up to 12; both great for special occasions. They are decorated with a minimal yet rugged look, and are cosy as well as stylish – perfect for snuggling down in front of a fire or rustling up a hearty dinner. The bedrooms and bathrooms are serious interior goals; you won’t even want to leave your bed! Both have outdoor heated pools and beautiful landscaped gardens to enjoy and enjoy the sea views from the Jacuzzi at Treverra! The houses really do feel like a luxury home away from home, and make relaxation and ease their number one priority. Have a closer look on social media @ck.living
For those sunny days (or just as fun in the wind and rain), George’s Surf School is great fun. Wetsuits are supplied, and George and his team were amazing, they cater for all ages and abilities. You spend some time on the gorgeous Polzeath beach, learning the basics, before you head out onto the waves. It’s great for families or groups of friends, and really doesn’t matter if you’re a complete novice (which most of us were).
For a rainy day, Watergate Bay Hotel is a fantastic option you can pay a one-day entrance to the ‘Swim Club’, which is an area designed for kicking back, chilling out and being active. With beautiful views over the beach, there’s a studio for cardio and yoga classes, treatment rooms and outdoor hot tubs. Our favourite has to be the ocean-view infinity pool, what more could you want! We grabbed some food and coffees from the ‘Living Space’; perfect for groups, it’s got a lovely rustic menu, perfect for sharing.
There are plenty of other activities to keep you busy such as; long afternoon coastal walks and morning runs with gorgeous sea views. There are lots of golf courses around for those who want to be more active, or a plethora of cute cream tea shops in Padstow, which is only a stone throw away.
Why not stay in and have someone come to you? We did this a few evenings with Georgie from Kaloura’s Kitchen who came to our CK Living cottage to cook for us. It’s such a great option if you want something fancy but don’t want to leave your cosy set up. She offers dinner parties, brunch and lunch parties, canapés, high teas or romantic meals for two, with lots of choice of menu styles and options. They use local food and produce, and it’s great for a special occasion.
If you want to go out for dinner or lunch, we would recommend heading to Padstow. Drive or catch the ferry, which departs frequently all day from next door village Rock. For delicious British food, with of course an emphasis on local fresh fish, Rick Stein’s restaurant St Petroc’s Bistro is perfect. Meat and fish with plenty of sides, and a cosy atmosphere made us fall in love!
