Five Ways To Relax Over The Bank Holiday Weekend

Make the most of the long bank holiday weekend and take some time to pamper yourself. Read on for our top relaxation tips

Nothing sounds dreamier than a four-day week. Another day to hit the snooze button, spend time with the family, or just take some time to pamper yourself.

Here are five simple ways to really relax this bank holiday and recharge the batteries:

Treat yourself to an at home facial. Give yourself that out-of-the-salon glow without stepping outside. First up, a thorough double cleanse. Start with an oil or balm such as Cleanse and Smoothe Face Balm, and spend time really massaging the product into the skin. Even better, apply it in the bath and after massaging soak for ten minutes to allow the oils to be absorbed into the skin. Follow up with Pure Skin Face Wash for a second cleanse. Next, exfoliate the skin gently, followed by a soothing and hydrating mask. The Radiance Face Mask acts as a great 2-in-1, as the mask gently exfoliates with fruit acids and is then buffed away with ground walnut shell. Apply a serum suitable to your skin time, and pat it into your skin. Follow with a moisturiser and eye cream. Lastly, apply a face oil to really brighten the skin, and give yourself a mini face massage, using upwards and outwards motions.

Try some yoga at home. Taking time to stretch out the muscles we use everyday and relax them is so important. Yoga also relaxes the mind, and with some great YouTube videos, it’s so easy to do at home. We love Fitness Blender and Yoga with Adriene for simple, no fuss videos at all levels.

Do some baking.  Cooking something from scratch is both rewarding and healthy, as you know exactly what has gone into it.

Take a bath. Running a warm bath can be relaxing and great for your skin. Avoid foaming bubble baths as these can strip your skin of moisture. Instead, take some body oil or hydrating wash; such as Rose Otto Body Wash which wont strip your skin. Containing different types of pure rose essential oils, with a mood-balancing aroma, it will calm and sooth your skin. Adding salts such as Epsom Bath Salts can be great for detoxifying.

Light some candles. Nothing is more relaxing than sitting in a room lit by flickering candles. Or lighting one before bed, and turning off all your electronic devices. Picking a candle containing essential oils gives the best scent and benefits. Watch this space for Balance Me candles!
