Clare and Rebecca spend the day at Raymond Blanc’s Cookery School. Housed within Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons
As wellbeing and a balanced lifestyle is at the heart of Balance Me it was with great pleasure that Clare and I accepted an invitation to spend the day at Raymond Blanc’s Cookery School. Housed within Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, we took part in their Spring Blanc Vite cookery course hosted by nutritionist Natalia Traxel and Head Tutor Mark Peregrine and his team.
Many of the fresh ingredients are grown in their incredible gardens and those that aren’t are sourced from local producers (as well as Waitrose – so we are in good company as we’re in 200 of their beauty aisles!)
We immersed ourselves in a day of delicious flavours starting with Bircher museli and an omelette with spring greens that Clare and I prepared ourselves. We didn’t stop cooking and tasting until 4.30pm but the dishes we created were so balanced and delicious that we didn’t feel full; rather inspired to try everything again at home! Just as we have created our skincare to bring skin back into balance and solve skin concerns without creating others, Natalia highlighted the nutritional content of each ingredient we cooked with, focusing on which will help to fuel our body, improve our health and prevent diseases.
For our lunch we created the most incredibly fragrant green Thai broth followed by a smoked vegetarian chilli, a seasonal vegetable salad and a glass of bubbles. Dessert was the most amazing Cherry Clafoutis and a hand-whisked ‘healthy’ chocolate mousse (egg whites, 85% chocolate and a dash of lemon juice) which we took home for our children to devour!
Balance Me will be collaborating with Le Manoir’s cookery school on a number of initiatives and we’ll keep you posted in the coming weeks….
