The House of St Barnabas Graduation.
Balance Me is very proud to support London-based social enterprise and private members club, The House of St Barnabas in their ongoing effort to empower those affected by homelessness back into the work place. We provide complimentary bespoke hand wash and body lotion for their club and employment academy bathrooms, and this spring we have sponsored a student through the House’s Employment Preparation Programme.
The Employment Preparation Programme runs over 12 weeks and helps students get back into work through personal development and business administration training. Students also gain hospitality specific skills through work experience in the charity’s private member club in Soho Square, enabling them to build a better future for themselves.
During the 12 week training course, Balance Me spent a day with students, offering massages, providing natural skincare packs, and carrying out skin analysis using our mobile skin scanner to allow the students a spot of wellbeing (and well-earned!) respite from their studies. We are also running a programme of skincare and wellbeing initiatives for club members throughout the year, hosting a range of Balance Me events designed to boost skin confidence and restore balance.
Last week, Co-founder Rebecca attended the graduation for the most recent Employment Preparation Programme, watching the student the brand sponsored, graduate. The charity’s patron, HRH Princess Alexandra, was in attendance at an emotional ceremony held in the club’s own beautifully ornate chapel to present each graduate with their certificate. We were so proud that we were able to sponsor a student and see them graduate and learn they have been offered a place in full time employment! Making a positive difference to somebody’s life in this way is a truly humbling experience both for Rebecca and for the brand she co-founded with her sister, Clare more than a decade ago.
