The Food Medic is an educational platform and media group founded by Dr Hazel Wallace. Their aim is to bridge the gap between traditional medical advice and the latest thoughts and developments in nutrition and other areas of lifestyle.
I think we obsess to much about finding balance and we have almost lost touch with what balance actually means. It’s very difficult to achieve absolute balance but I do believe that when it comes to health we often strive for physical health, often neglecting our mental health and what really makes us happy. So for me, I think balance is finding that sweet spot where you can dedicate enough time to the things you have to do to stay well (sleep, exercise, a healthy diet, stress management) and the things that feed your soul (spending time with those you love, duvet days, pizza nights with friends).
I love grabbing my coffee from the local independent coffee shop in my neighbourhood on my way to the tube (I also love the chat with the staff).
I make a point of making myself a lunch every day to take with me to work so that I have something tasty to break up my day!
I rarely get a lie in but when I do, I love crawling back into bed with a magazine, a cup of tea and toast with jam!
Harry Potter audiobooks (narrated by Stephen fry) are guaranteed to help me switch off from the world.
On my IG page and blog. Science isn’t typically sexy and so it requires a lot of creativity and imagination to bring it to life and make it engaging for people.
When I get in from work, I pop on my diffuser with lavender oil, get into my comfy trackers, tie back my hair and cook dinner while listening to a podcast or audio book. It totally chills me out.
I absolutely love porridge and recently I’ve been making it with cocoa powder and frozen cherries and it’s literally divine! Sometimes I grate some dark chocolate on top too.
