Finding products that will soothe rather than irritate can be difficult. If you’re prone to rosacea flare-ups we understand that it can be hard to find products you can use with confidence.
Finding products that will soothe rather than irritate can be difficult. If you’re prone to rosacea flare-ups we understand that it can be hard to find products you can use with confidence. A good place to start is avoiding all synthetic fragrances, alcohol (which will deprive your skin of nutrients and make it feel tight) and astringents. Here are our recommendations of Balance Me skin care you could weave into your routine.
Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm:
As we mentioned in our top tips, the fine oat powder in this balm cleanser releases natural starches that calm and soothe irritated skin. Any dry, tight or flaky skin will be instantly nourished as the formula locks in moisture while regulating oil production without stripping the skin.
• How to use: Massage the balm into dry skin, even to break down make-up. Rinsing hands under warm water and continuing to massage will emulsify the balm, making it milky in consistency and easier to remove with a damp, warm muslin cloth. If you work in a busy city or wear make-up each day, repeat this process to ensure your skin is thoroughly cleansed.
Rose Otto Face Oil:
Perfect for protecting and strengthening skin. If your skin feels sensitive to touch due to rosacea, this oil is ideal to use at night after cleansing as it deeply hydrates even the most sensitive and delicate skin.
• How to use: Apply two drops to your palms and press into cleansed skin once or twice daily depending on how inflamed and dehydrated the skin is.
Moisture Rich Face Cream/Balancing Face Moisturiser:
It is important to listen to your skin and vary the products you use dependent on the symptoms you are experiencing. On days when your skin is dry, flaky and tight, our Moisture Rich Face Cream will promote healthy skin cell production. It calms, protects and strengthens thanks to rose absolute and rose geranium essential oils. It is also possible for Rosacea prone skin change and sometimes is oilier, rather than dry and flaky. On these days, respond accordingly and use a moisturiser lighter in weight so as not to overload your skin unnecessarily.
• How to use: Apply 1-2 pumps to the face and massage into your skin once your serum or oil has absorbed.
BB Natural Perfection SPF25:
Our lightweight BB cream gets its colour from a pure mineral tint, ideal for those suffering with rosacea that do not wish to pile on make-up to cover up the redness. Whilst addressing skin tone and lightly covering the appearance of redness and broken capillaries, our BB cream is also packed full of skin-protecting ingredients. Hyaluronic acid will bind moisture to your skin, keeping it plump and looking fresh and rosehip oil will help soothe inflamed and angry flare-ups.
• How to use: Apply using fingers or a make-up brush for a glowing, fresh and light coverage.
