What we’ve been up to in May

Posted by Rebecca Hopkins on

We don’t know about you, but we’ve found a daily/weekly routine, not feeling guilty about upping our ‘me time’ quota and discovering new experiences has helped keep us sane over the last few weeks. We’ve re-discovered the joys of writing and posting letters and enjoyed sharing tips on our LIVE channels as well as swapping ideas with our neighbours across the garden wall!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this month:

WatchingNormal People, along with most of the UK! We’ve both read the book and the TV series has not disappointed.

Reading: We’re both members of ‘currently virtual’ book clubs and here is our latest reading list

Listening to: summer tunes and creating kitchen/garden discos have been lifting our moods this month as we’ve enjoyed the longer, lighter evenings. Current favourite tracks are PANG Walking in the Sun and HAIM Summer Girl!

Sending gifts: We might not be able to hug and meet up with our family and friends but we’ve discovered that sending out self-care parcels and personalising gifts means the postman can deliver something exciting to receive rather than the usual bills and junk mail!

Gardening RHS Chelsea might have been postponed but we’ve enjoyed the BBC coverage and following @jothompsongarden@rvk_loves@themontydon (pictured) and @charlotte_annfidler for some Instagram garden inspiration. Plus we’ve always been green-fingered ever since our mother used to bribe us with extra pocket money if we weeded her rose garden and our gardens and window boxes offer a stress relieving tonic. Now garden centres are re-opening we can physically visit our local favourites but for those looking for an efficient online alternative, we couldn’t recommend crocus.co.uk highly enough

Cooking Please do check out our IGTV for our recipes – both healthy and indulgent – that are quick and easy to make, and might encourage the teens to take time out from their screens!

Do share your daily balance with us on your social channels too. If you tag #balanceme #dailybalance we’ll share our favourites on Stories and send you a parcel of self-care
