Finding Balance in Life and Skin

Finding Balance in Life and Skin

Posted by Rebecca Hopkins on

Finding balance in life can be a challenge, especially in today’s fast-paced, highly connected world. With so many demands on our time and attention, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and feel our lives shift out of balance. This is exactly what happened to us and is the reason why we started Balance Me! We recognise the importance of wellness and self-care in order to find balance in our daily lives and we want to help you achieve that too.

To kick-start the new year, we’ll be talking to experts and influencers in various fields about what balance means to them and how they find it in their day-to-day. We’ll be exploring a myriad of ways to champion wellness, whether it be through exercising regularly, cooking and eating a healthy diet, getting out in nature, making time for hobbies or simply taking time out to spend with friends and family.

We strongly believe in the power of skincare as self-care. Carving out 5-10 minutes a day for you and your skin can be a really easy way to start introducing more balance into your life and can have a dramatic impact on your skin. We know that when you’re feeling out of balance, it can show on your skin in various ways, such as breakouts and dry or oily skin. Natural ingredients are the perfect remedy to this, which is why we pride ourselves on our natural bio-active ingredients. Here are our top tips for introducing a skincare self-care routine to your day.

1. Build it into your morning and evening routines

The simplest way to add these moments of self-care is to tag them on to your morning and evening rituals. Brushing your teeth, washing your face, doing your hair, this is the time to add a few extra steps to give you a little extra me-time.

2. Start with a simple routine

If your current routine is super simple and just includes cleansing and/or moisturising, let’s not overcomplicate it. Think about adding in a serum and eye cream, such as our Vitamin C Repair Serum and Wonder Eye Cream, and begin to layer it up. We can introduce face mists, masks and skincare tools once you’ve established the basics.

3. Make it a habit

There are lots of suggestions on how many times you need to do something before it becomes a habit and we’re not sure which number is the right one. All we can say is persevere. Remain as consistent as you can with the routine you choose, and the benefits will be worth it.

4. Add something indulgent once a week

We’re suckers for self-care, and we know you will be too (if you aren’t already!), so we suggest taking a little extra time once a week to give yourself some additional pampering. Whether it’s doing a face mask every other week or having a relaxing bath with some aromatherapy oils once a week. These indulgent moments will give you the chance to gain perspective and reset for the week ahead.

Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks, as we’ll be hearing from some amazing women on their top tips to finding balance.
