Peptides For Anti-Ageing Skincare

Peptides For Anti-Ageing Skincare

Posted by Rebecca Hopkins on

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as building blocks of proteins. The most known proteins in the skin are collagen, keratin and elastin, and are responsible for its texture, strength and resilience.

It’s estimated we lose 1% of our collagen per year after age 30 which will lead to a loss of firmness, appearance of wrinkles and changes in texture. When applied topically to the skin, peptides act as messengers, triggering skin cells to perform specific function such as producing more collagen and elastin. This is why peptides are one of the most talked about natural ingredients in anti-ageing skincare.

At Balance Me, we use Tri-peptides and a pea-peptide in our natural formulations.

Tri-peptide is remarkably clever. It’s a naturally derived chain of amino acids (Glycine, Proline and Hydroxyproline) that mimics broken down collagen molecules, tricking the cells into producing more collagen whilst simultaneously blocking the enzyme that destroys collagen in the first place.

Peas are a complete source of essential amino acids and naturally rich in protein. Our pea-peptide, found in our Collagen Boost Moisturiser, is a world first anti-oxidant peptide. It harnesses the power of amino acids to help restore the skin cell’s strength, as well as providing essential anti-oxidant protection to the skin from everyday stresses.

Boost collagen and upgrade your routine with our peptide packed skincare.
